Job Description

The Assistant Provost for Health and Wellness is responsible for the overall direction, leadership, and administration of learner wellness. This includes providing high-quality physical and mental health care, as well as health promotion services to students. The Assistant Provost will oversee educational outreach and all health promotion programs and services. Additionally, the Assistant Provost will dedicate 50% of their time to providing direct primary care to eligible patients and 50% to administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement a plan to provide primary medical care to students, ensuring services are adequate, safe, and timely.
2. Manage the administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of counseling and student health services.
3. Create and execute an enterprise-wide program for student health promotion and well-being, empowering students to make positive health decisions.
4. Participate in policy development to promote student health and prevent illness across the university.
5. Provide direct patient care.
6. Collaborate with Graduate Medical Education (GME) counseling and programming.
7. Serve as the liaison to Jefferson Occupational Health Network for student health services in Center City.
8. Engage with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson's values.

Candidate Qualifications:

1. MD, DO, or equivalent qualification from abroad.
2. Physician candidates must be board certified or eligible in family medicine. If eligible, the candidate must pass boards within two years of hire.
3. Experience in student health and/or adolescent/young adult care is required.
4. Leadership experience is preferred.
