• Reviews criminal warrant requests from State and local law enforcement, analyzes reports and determines grounds to authorize a warrant.
• Researches and prepares criminal cases for trial, interviews witnesses, develops trial strategies, and directs investigations.
• Arraigns defendants, presents arguments, examines witnesses, and argues points of law before judges and juries.
• Collaborates with law enforcement and staff to ensure investigations comply with rules and standards.
• Drafts motions, briefs and other legal documents for Circuit Court, Courts of Appeal and Michigan Supreme Court.
• Advises on legal issues, drafts county forms for statutory compliance.
