A law degree and Michigan license are required, with at least one year of criminal law experience. The office offers retirement and health insurance with no payroll deduction, plus longevity pay increases beyond the top hourly rate.
The Newaygo County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to join their legal team. The Prosecutor employs three (3) attorneys that assists with all legal matters including but not limited to reviewing and authorizing requests for warrants, determining appropriate criminal charge, and prosecuting criminal cases within the District, Circuit, and Probate Courts. Additionally, there are five (5) legal secretaries available for support. Two of those positions have designated responsibilities while the others are assigned specifically to assist with court cases and provide administrative support to the attorneys.

Law degree from an accredited law school.
One year of criminal law experience.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan. Valid State of Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License.
