Position Summary

Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney will participate in the processing of a variety of complaints from various police agencies and prosecute all phases of criminal matters, prepare and conduct felony trials, motions, hearings and appeals in District, Circuit, Juvenile and Family Courts. Regularly present cases in court and may assist with other matters as assigned. Attempt to resolve and dispose of criminal cases. Prepare for and litigate bench trials and jury trials. At a minimum, weekly court appearances, on‑job training and continued training opportunities are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
• Two to four years of experience as a prosecuting attorney.
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan is required.
