Position Overview
We’re looking for a talented assistant property manager responsible for assisting the property manager in overall operations, including ensuring efficiency, overseeing contracts and maintenance, lease administration, reporting, and providing a positive experience for residents, staff, and owners.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily property operations, resident satisfaction, retention, and full lifecycle activities.
- Understand operational guidelines within the management agreement.
- Maintain accounts receivable, collect rent, post payments, make bank deposits, and balance the rent roll.
- Complete financial and leasing reports accurately and timely.
- Audit records for lease expirations, delinquencies, and legal notices.
- Handle delinquent accounts and process evictions, including paperwork and court attendance.
- Lease apartments as needed.
- Inspect property for safety and cleanliness, coordinate repairs.
- Manage move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals.
- Audit lease agreements and resident files for accuracy.
- Support staff training on leasing, marketing, maintenance, and office operations.
- Prepare correspondence and notices.
- Assist with resident relations and resolving issues.
- Operate the property in the absence of the property manager.
- Ensure compliance with policies, health and safety, and legal regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 2-3 years of property management experience required.
- Knowledge of resident lifecycle activities required.
- Real estate license preferred or required in some locations.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar systems preferred.
Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate office equipment and key track systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
- Valid driver’s license, clean record, and auto insurance required.
