Title: Assistant Project Manager

Summary: Independently performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives, involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and equipment.

General Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for designing typical lift stations, water supply plants, wastewater treatment plants, and stormwater pump stations with limited supervisory assistance.
2. Performs design calculations, prepares equipment or material specifications, and provides direction to drafting personnel.
3. Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates getting that information directly with them.
4. Prepares draft memos or reports for an experienced engineer to review and seal.
5. Recognizes discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
6. Exercises judgment in making preliminary method selections and the adoption of alternatives.
7. Must be able to manage multiple work assignments and should be able to prioritize work with supervisory assistance.

Required Education/Licenses:

1. Bachelor of Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
2. Certified Engineer in Training is required.

Required Experience:

1. 4 years or more of post-graduate experience in detailed civil design of land development water and wastewater facilities including sanitary lift stations, water plants, and wastewater treatment plants or master’s degree and 3 years’ experience.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to build strong relationships.
4. Experience using AutoCAD for detailed civil design of land development water and wastewater facilities is a plus.
5. Familiarity with Houston area agency approval process is a plus.
