Job summary

Rycon Construction, an ESOP employee-owned firm, seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager for its Special Projects Group in Pittsburgh. You will support the PM, read contracts, and craft scopes of work for trade packages while coordinating subcontracts and change orders.

Requirements include 2+ years in small-to-medium commercial construction, strong communication, and MS Project/Office proficiency. Knowledge of Procore or PlanGrid is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to direct complex projects from concept to operation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Office Suite; familiarity with Procore/PlanGrid/Bluebeam a plus
• Ability to create material take-offs
• Highly organized, motivated, and detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in executing project goals
• Read documents and contracts
• Develop and write scopes of work for trade packages
• Write subcontracts and negotiate subawards
• Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project
• Attend meetings and prepare minutes
• Review and prepare change orders
• Develop/track submittals, RFIs and cost reports
• Maintain owner relations
