Primoris Heavy Civil in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, execution, and close-out of heavy civil construction projects. You will assist the Project Manager to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget while upholding quality standards.

This role requires a bachelor’s in construction management or civil engineering, 2+ years in heavy civil, and proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in heavy civil construction.
• Experience with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and construction processes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager will support project planning, execution, and close-out activities for heavy civil construction projects in the Houston, TX area. This role involves assisting the Project Manager in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and assist in developing solutions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, contracts, and change orders.
• Assist in managing project costs, including tracking expenses and processing invoices.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
• Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and construction crews.
• Support the Project Manager in all aspects of project administration and oversight.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status.
• Contribute to the identification and mitigation of project risks.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction or a related industry.
