Job summary

Atlas Connections in Chester, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center construction projects. You will work alongside experienced project leaders on preconstruction through turnover, coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.

The role requires 3-5 years of PM/construction management experience and familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other PM platforms.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of project management or construction management experience.
• Data center, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, semiconductor, or other complex MEP construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction administration, document control, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
• Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in delivering data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule.
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, drawing revisions, and closeout documentation.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and progress tracking.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
• Participate in project meetings and provide timely updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Help identify project risks, coordinate issue resolution, and support change management efforts.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support commissioning activities, punch list management, and final project turnover.

We're partnering with a rapidly growing developer of hyperscale and AI data centers seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale, mission-critical construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with 5–7 years of experience looking to take the next step in their career while working alongside experienced project leaders on some of the industry's most complex builds.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of project management or construction management experience, with experience supporting commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects.
• Previous data center, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, semiconductor, or other complex MEP construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction administration, document control, RFIs, submittals, and change management.
• Experience with project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
• Working knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Willingness to travel to active project sites throughout the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Progress toward or interest in obtaining PMP, CCM, or other industry certifications is a plus.
