Job summary

SES Electrical LLC in Knoxville, TN is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for medical construction projects. The role supports Project Managers in coordinating budgets, schedules, submittals, and field coordination, ensuring contractual and quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in construction, a related bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with DHA or healthcare alteration projects. A proactive, professional approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience preferred in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field is a plus
  • Experience with Defense Health Agency (DHA) is preferred
  • Experience with healthcare alteration/construction projects
  • Familiarity with Infection Control Risk Assessments and related controls
  • Familiarity with Interim Life Safety Measures and planning
  • Must be familiar with industry standards and practices
  • Basic Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
  • RMS and/or eCMS experience preferred
  • ProCore project management software experience
  • ASHE HCC certification, USACE QCM, and EM385-1-1 training preferred but not required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with clients/subcontractors
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check as required

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting Project Managers in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is expected to take on any/all tasks in the quest to learn all he/she can about construction.

This position will report to our office location in Knoxville, TN.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 annually

The essential duties and responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Developing and updating work plans
  • Assist with project budgets, scheduling and submittal processing
  • Assist the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project
  • Develop thorough understanding of the project [drawings + specifications]
  • Review owner contract and become familiar with terms and conditions
  • Provide support to the field staff
  • Assist with development and maintenance of project schedule
  • Identifying and assisting in resolution of scope conflicts as necessary
  • Preparation of materials for client, internal, and subcontractor meetings
  • Developing project plans and documentation including work plans, safety plans, quality control plans, construction submittals, schedules, base access, etc.
  • Assistance with subcontractor outreach and bid preparation

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 3-5 years’ experience preferred in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, construction, or a related field a plus
  • Experience working with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare alteration and construction projects
  • Familiarity with Infection Control Risk Assessments and related controls
  • Familiarity with Interim Life Safety Measures and planning
  • Must be familiar with industry standards and practices
  • The candidate should possess basic Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook skills
  • RMS and/or eCMS experience preferred
  • Experience with ProCore project management software
  • ASHE HCC certification, USACE QCM, and EM385-1-1 training are preferred but not required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work directly with our clients and subcontractors and present themselves professionally
  • As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust vision.

Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
