Job summary

SES Electrical LLC is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for medical construction projects in Knoxville, TN. The role oversees design-build and bid-build efforts ranging from $2M to $15M, with potential to manage up to $20M concurrently.

Responsibilities include subcontractor procurement, schedule development, budgeting, invoicing, and client interface. Required are 10+ years of related experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership, safety, and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement of subcontractors, coordination, organization, and supervision of construction activities to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and upholding high-quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Analyze project RFPs and plans, collaborating with executives to define project objectives effectively.
  • Oversee labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors within the allocated time and budget.
  • Foster relationships with vendors, subcontractors, field staff, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the evaluation and acquisition of subcontracts, labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Supervise the project to address out-of-scope changes and unforeseen conditions.
  • Work with superintendents and team to develop and revise project schedules.
  • Develop and scrutinize project budgets and cost estimates meticulously.

This role entails scheduling, subcontractor management, communication with the client and building occupants, safety and occupational health management, and assurance of quality and compliance. Responsible for overseeing a variety of construction projects, including design-build and bid-build projects typically ranging from $2M to $15M, with the potential to manage up to $20M of projects simultaneously.

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000 annually.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, construction, or a related field preferred
  • 5 – 10 years of Federal renovation and repair-type construction
  • Experience in healthcare alteration and construction projects from commencement of design to project close out with a working knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery principles and the risks related to integrating FF&E into the process.
  • Familiarity with Infection Control Risk Assessments and related controls
  • Familiarity with Interim Life Safety Measures and planning
  • Management of Design Build and Bid Build projects
  • Ability to help decipher and solve technical issues relating to construction
  • Strong customer service ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is preferred

Additional Qualifying Factors:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Conditions

Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
