Job summary

Talent Solutions Partners is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a large multiyear heavy civil highway program in the Lakeland/Polk County area. This is an excellent step for a Project Engineer ready to advance, or an APM seeking a big, stable role with long runway.

You will work beside the project manager on planning, subcontracts, and contract administration to keep costs and schedules on track, primarily for state highway projects in Central Florida.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM.
• Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering.
• Solid with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates.
• FDOT or Turnpike experience is a plus.
• Clear writer and communicator under schedule pressure.
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam is a plus.
• Based in Central Florida or ready to relocate to the Lakeland area.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on cost, schedule and resource planning.
• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate subs and suppliers.
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner.
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates.
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents.
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current.
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast.
• Back the field on safety and quality.
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner.
