Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search is assisting in recruiting an Assistant Project Manager for a large highway program in Lakeland, FL. This is an onsite, full-time role with a long runway and strong advancement toward Project Manager.

You will support cost and schedule planning, manage subcontracts, track pay estimates, and coordinate field activities with superintendents to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects as a Project Engineer/APM/Field Engineer.
• Four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication under schedule pressure.
• Experience with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on cost, schedule and resource planning.
• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders; coordinate subs and suppliers.
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner.
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates.
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents.
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current.
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast.
• Back the field on safety and quality.
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner.
