Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across Virginia. Based in the Fredericksburg area with relocation options, you will work with a senior PM on roadway and utility work, including VDOT projects.

You will drive submittals, RFIs, procurement, and cost management while coordinating subs and suppliers. A BA/BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, with 3+ years in the field and DOT experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Participate in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
