Job summary

Assistant Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Boise, ID

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

A well-established heavy civil general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join its growing Boise team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex infrastructure projects including roadways, highways, bridges, underground utilities, site development, and water/wastewater improvements throughout Idaho.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with the planning, execution, and delivery of heavy civil construction projects
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and change order management
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules
  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and project documentation
  • Track project progress and help identify solutions to project challenges
  • Assist with client, owner, engineer, and stakeholder communications
  • Support project scheduling and milestone tracking
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate project records
Experience Needed
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience supporting roadway, highway, bridge, utility, excavation, earthwork, or water/wastewater projects
  • Exposure to project management, estimating, field engineering, or construction operations
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Familiarity with project budgeting and cost control processes
  • Understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience working with public works, DOT, municipal, or infrastructure projects is a plus
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Experience with construction management software is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with both field and office personnel
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
