Job summary

Lead Heavy Civil Construction Projects from Start to Finish

Coffman Excavation is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee and successfully deliver excavation and civil construction projects throughout the Boise area. This role is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

As a Project Manager, you will work closely with senior leadership, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while managing all aspects of project execution—from estimating and procurement to scheduling, cost control, and project closeout.

What You'll Do
Project Management
  • Lead construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
  • Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Monitor project performance and proactively resolve issues
  • Conduct site visits and ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and estimate preparation
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
  • Participate in bid reviews and proposal development
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Contract Administration
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, and plan revisions
  • Oversee change order preparation and negotiations
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and reporting
  • Monitor procurement activities and material deliveries
Safety & Quality
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and project requirements
  • Support quality control initiatives and client satisfaction goals
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing RFIs, submittals, and plan revisions
  • 5+ years of experience reviewing and interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • 5+ years of experience with estimating and quantity takeoffs
  • Experience managing change orders and project documentation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience
