Job summary

Barnhart is a leading provider in lifting, heavy-rigging, and heavy transport services across the United States. This role coordinates project planning, scheduling, coordination, and invoicing through execution and payment at multiple project sites.

You will direct the on-site team, work with the Operations Manager and Sales Team, ensure policy compliance, and develop crew lists for QA personnel while managing change orders and contract scope.

Qualifications

• Ability to build trust and confidence with manager, supervision, mechanics, and team of equipment operators.
• Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
• Consultation skills.
• Knowledge of Wind Energy a plus.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment a plus.
• Education in Engineering or Construction Technology preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and work on assignments.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates work with the Director of Operations.
• Work in a fast-paced site office environment.
• Must be willing to travel overnight as needed to project sites.
• Work with Operations Manager and Sales Team in project planning, scheduling, coordination and invoicing through execution and payment.
• Direct and manage the site team.
• Ensure efficiency and compliance to policy and procedures.
• Develops crew list Project Manager, Director of Operations and Quality Assurance Director for QA personnel assignments.
• Coordinate transportation (permitting) and logistics tasks for mobile crane industry.
• Manage, interact and cultivate a working relationship with the client/customer.
• Work closely with Health and Safety team audits and weekly safety focuses.
• Be the contract expert.
• Understand and address potential scope and schedule changes, assist Operations Team with development, submittals and negotiations related to change orders.
• Establish lines of communication with local union representatives; negotiate and coordinate appropriate manpower needs.
• Responsible to regularly and accurately communicate the project status, including schedule, profitability, quality control, safety concerns with executive project and Support service team.
