Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in the Chicago area to support the Project Manager across all phases of delivery on commercial and industrial projects. The role focuses on scheduling, budget tracking, and subcontractor coordination to ensure efficient, safe project execution.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in construction roles and familiarity with MS Project, Primavera, and cost-control practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Architectural Engineering, or related field or equivalent construction experience.
2+ years in a construction project role (assistant PM, coordinator, or superintendent support).
Familiar with scheduling and cost-control systems (MS Project, Primavera).
Strong organizational and communication skills with multiple stakeholders.
Understanding of contract documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Willingness to travel within the region to project sites.

Responsibilities

Assist in development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
Coordinate subcontractor bidding, scopes of work, POs, and subcontracts.
Track costs vs. budget, assist with change orders, and maintain cost logs.
Attend internal, client, and subcontractor meetings; prepare minutes.
Maintain project documentation: RFIs, submittals, logs, safety records, photos.
Support PM to ensure quality, safety, and contract compliance; assist in client communications.
