Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting's client in Reston, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to serve as the Project Manager's right hand from day one. The role is primarily office-based with regular visits to local job sites to stay connected with progress.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of APM experience in commercial construction and Procore experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required. Procore and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as APM in commercial construction.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• Procore experience REQUIRED.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with a wide range of project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Generate and track RFIs
• Manage submittals from subcontractors through approval
• Maintain all project documentation, assist with contract administration
• Track material lead times
• Help ensure all paperwork is current and complete
• Maintain project files from kickoff through closeout
• Support project financial tracking and job costing
• Visit jobsites 1–2 times per week (approximately 80–90% office / 10–20% field)
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field superintendents
• Attend OAC meetings and internal project meetings
• Follow up on action items and help keep the project team accountable
• Help identify and resolve issues before they impact schedule
• Use Procore and Microsoft Office, Bluebeam (preferred)
