Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an Industrial Assistant Project Manager (APM) in Virginia to coordinate information, manage budgets, and support the project lifecycle from pre-construction to closeout.

The role emphasizes safety, site coordination, and strong communication. A four-year degree is preferred, with 2–5 years in commercial construction; ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred.
• Must master sector/project software systems (ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards, MS Office).
• Strong communication, writing and verbal skills; ability to see how pieces fit into the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards.
• File required documentation.
• Assist in creating and managing project budgets.
• Develop pre-construction RFP packages.
• Assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and owner reports.
• Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications) including approvals and change orders.
• Update project schedules and ensure quality control and logistics.
• Assist in closeout.
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team.
