Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management and execution of assigned construction projects. You will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in developing the PMP and its implementation, organize pre-construction planning, and help manage project costs and schedules.

The role requires at least two years of commercial construction experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field.
• Minimum of two or more years of commercial construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overall planning, management, and execution of construction projects from inception to closeout.
• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing the Project Management Plan (PMP) and its implementation.
• Organize and conduct pre-construction planning meetings.
• Participate in value engineering during preconstruction.
• Obtain and review plans and specs, ensure completeness, and assist with permits.
• Manage project materials and equipment procurement within budget and schedule.
• Negotiate owner and subcontractor change orders and monitor cost implications.
• Lead/mentor Project Engineering tasks when applicable.
• Coordinate final closeout: drawings, punch lists, permits, and warranties.
