Job summary

Brooks Construction Company, Inc. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support project management across civil construction projects.

You will assist in pre-construction tasks, site coordination, logistics, and documentation to ensure safety, timeliness, and budget adherence. The role emphasizes field and administrative duties, collaborating with foremen and subcontractors, reviewing drawings and contracts, and contributing to quality control under experienced Project

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a construction environment OR successful completion of a construction internship program.
• Previous hands-on experience in horizontal/civil construction is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Picks up and delivers materials, tools, and equipment to various job sites.
• Sources and procures supplies from vendors, suppliers, or local retailers.
• Performs minor layout duties including traffic control signs and utility locates.
• Takes and submits photos for project documentation.
• Helps clean completed job sites and assists with site coordination.
• Assists with inspections such as traffic control devices and stormwater/erosion control.
• Confirms quantities on projects by visiting sites and measuring items of work.
• Assists with pre-construction activities and field office setup.
• Supports sales/estimating with quantity takeoffs on smaller projects.
• Reviews contracts, specifications, and drawings under supervision.
