Overview

A leading national builder specializing in complex, mission-critical facilities is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale data center construction projects across the U.S. This position offers an opportunity to work on technically sophisticated builds with a team known for innovation, precision, and a collaborative approach to project delivery.

This role is ideal for an experienced Project Engineer or current Assistant Project Manager looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to high-profile, fast-paced projects within the mission-critical sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in all phases of construction from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure work aligns with design, schedule, and budget goals.
  • Assist in managing project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Track procurement schedules, subcontractor deliverables, and equipment/material deliveries.
  • Support jobsite operations and field coordination to resolve design or construction challenges.
  • Participate in cost tracking, forecasting, and project financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and quality control standards.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to support on-site coordination and execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, with exposure to data centers, mission‑critical, healthcare, or other technically intensive projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, schedules, and cost management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly (typically 2–3 trips per month).
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
