Invoke Staffing is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of water and wastewater treatment plant projects in Raleigh-Durham, NC. Ideal for a motivated construction professional with civil/environmental project experience.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, budgets, change orders, subcontract coordination, and maintaining documentation to keep projects on time and on budget. Travel in NC may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in civil/construction fields.
  • 1–3+ years in heavy civil, water/wastewater construction.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Assist in managing multiple water/wastewater construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, update project schedules.
  • Assist in budgets, cost controls, and forecasting.
  • Support billing, cash flow management, and change orders.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance and communicate schedule or budget impacts.
  • Prepare RFIs, submittals, and material certifications.
  • Expedite procurement to meet schedules.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.

Salary: $80-100K (before bonus)

About the Opportunity

Invoke Staffing is recruiting an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex water treatment and wastewater treatment plant construction projects. This position is ideal for a motivated construction professional with experience managing heavy civil and environmental infrastructure projects who is looking to grow within a highly respected contractor.

Project Management
  • Assist in managing multiple water and wastewater construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets and cost controls.
  • Support project billing, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and process change orders and evaluate costs associated with extra work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Review labor productivity reports and assist with production planning.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate schedule or budget impacts proactively.
  • Support daily project management activities as required.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, and design teams regarding scope changes and project issues.
  • Prepare, submit, and track RFIs, submittals, and material certifications.
  • Expedite procurement of equipment and materials to support project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, records, and files.
  • Process vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Assist with development and management of subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Track equipment fabrication and delivery to minimize schedule impacts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3+ years of experience with heavy civil, water treatment, or wastewater treatment construction projects.
  • Knowledge of construction management, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
