At IMC Construction, our Assistant Project Managers play a key role in keeping projects organized and moving forward. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to support all phases of a project, from preconstruction through closeout.

What You’ll Do
- Support Project Execution: Assist in managing projects from post‑bid through closeout, helping ensure alignment between scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations, and supporting coordination across internal teams and trade partners.
- Assist with Preconstruction & Buyout: Work with Estimating and Project Management to support bid packaging, scope review, and the buyout process, ensuring subcontractor scopes are complete and coordinated.
- Support Financial Management: Assist in developing and tracking project budgets, monitoring cost performance, and supporting change management efforts; review subcontractor invoices and contribute to owner pay applications.
- Support Schedule & Coordination: Assist in maintaining the project schedule in collaboration with the Superintendent and Project Manager, and help coordinate materials, trades, and logistics to keep work progressing as planned.
- Build Strong Relationships: Maintain positive working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal team members, communicating clearly and professionally in written and verbal interactions.
- Support Safety Efforts: Work with field leadership and Safety to uphold IMC’s “Safety First” culture, supporting the implementation and consistent execution of project‑specific safety plans.
- Contribute to Team Success: Support the team in day‑to‑day project activities, taking initiative, staying organized, and contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing environment.
Skills & Requirements
- Preferred 4‑year degree in an accredited construction‑related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Three years’ experience as Project Engineer or Field Engineer.
- Demonstrated competency in scheduling, procurement, budget/cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, written and oral communication, leadership and organization.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
- Proficiency in PC‑based scheduling and spreadsheet applications (Primavera, Procore, Timberscan, Excel, Word, P6, etc.).
- OSHA 30‑Hour certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- LEED background a plus.
- LEAN background a plus.
