Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help ensure timely, on-budget delivery of construction projects from Mount Airy, MD. Based in a full-time, on-site role, you will support the project manager, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and assist with bid development and contract administration.

You will develop project understanding, attend progress meetings, and manage documentation while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree preferred.
• Demonstrated business expertise with strong presentation, communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, financial knowledge, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide range of construction projects from start to finish.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the details of the project.
• Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors.
• Visit project sites prior to bid submission as needed.
• Anticipate issues and proactively work to avoid or resolve them.
• Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, review for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and track long lead time items on the project critical path.
• Prepare contract change orders for owners and subcontractors as needed.
• Responsible for file preparation and maintenance.
• Ensure vendor and subcontractor files are up to date with needed information.
• Continually seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
• Help maintain the subcontractor and vendor bid list for possible future work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, building codes, equipment, methods, and contracts.
• Demonstrated business expertise with strong presentation, communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, financial knowledge, and leadership skills.
• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolve conflicts.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software based on project requirements. Knowledge in construction software is a plus.
• Ability to pass a government check to work on Military Bases and in Government Facilities.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

Work Environment

The Assistant Project Manager will be based in the Mount Airy, MD office full-time, working closely with the entire Project Management and Executive team. The company offers a supportive environment with opportunities for growth, valuing each team member's contributions.

This is a Contract position based out of Mount Airy, MD.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $48.07/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
