Job summary

Griffco Design/Build, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial and industrial construction projects nationwide.

This in-office role at Griffco HQ in Kennesaw, GA offers rapid growth, ownership and hands-on experience across budgets, schedules, procurement and documentation. You will collaborate with owners, architects, engineers and trade partners to keep projects moving and make intelligent, timely decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership alongside Project Managers in delivering commercial and industrial construction projects from preconstruction through close-out.
• Drive project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, permitting and documentation while developing judgement to manage projects independently.
• Lead coordination of RFIs, submittals, change orders and close-out activities with accuracy and urgency.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, trade partners and internal teams to solve problems and keep projects moving forward.
• Participate in estimating, design coordination and subcontractor buyout activities to support strong project decisions.
• Own project cost tracking, maintain accurate documentation and help manage monthly pay applications with attention to detail.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to evaluate progress, quality and safety and bring observations back to the team.
• Build relationships, deliver exceptional client service and prepare to step into future Project Manager responsibilities.

• Build strong relationships, deliver exceptional client service and contribute to successful project outcomes while preparing to step into future Project Manager responsibilities.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Design/build experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software including Procore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project.
• A collaborative, proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to travel periodically from Griffco Headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia for project meetings and jobsite visits.
