Job summary

Martin-Harris Construction is seeking a Commercial Project Engineer to lead on-site activities, develop CPM schedules, and manage budgets, coordinating with the project team.

You will ensure subcontractor alignment, manage change orders, and maintain QA along the project lifecycle, with a focus on timely, accurate deliverables.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a commercial Project Engineer.
• Procore, Timberline, MS Word, MS Excel, and P-6 scheduling software experience desired; Prolog/Expedition may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manages, plans, and directs all activities related to the project and provides direction and support to the project team.
• Develops CPM schedule and ensures goals align with design documents and construction schedule.
• Manages project budgets including self-performed work.
• De-scopes subcontractors and drafts thorough subcontract agreements.
• Communicates with subcontractors to ensure timely performance and COR submittals.
• Develops and submits Owner billings.
• Ensures timely submission and execution of owner change orders and schedule updates.
• Negotiates with Owners and Public entities.
• Implements and enforces MHC policies and procedures.
• Implements and manages quality assurance procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Manages, plans, and directs all activities related to the project and provides direction and support to the project team
• Develops CPM schedule and ensures that all project goals are executed according to the design documents and as per the construction schedule
• Manages the project budgets including any MHC self-performed work
• De-scopes all subcontractors and authors thorough and complete subcontract agreements
• Communicates regularly with subcontractors to ensure prompt performance and accurate COR submittals
• Develops and submits Owner billings
• Ensures timely and accurate submission and execution of all owner change orders and schedule updates
• Negotiates and communicates with Owners and Public entities
• Implements and enforces MHC policies and procedures to perform the functions of the job
• Implements and manages quality assurance procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have five years of experience as a commercial Project Engineer
• Experience in Procore, Timberline, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and P-6 scheduling software is desired; experience in Prolog or Expedition is similar and may be acceptable
• Must have knowledge of commonly used field concepts, practices, and procedures including MHC self-performed work
• Willing to learn MHC procedures and be a member of the overall MHC team
• Willing to work as a team member to assist the team in critical deadlines and tasks
• Dedicated and cares about the work they are doing
• Self-starter who is well organized and reliable
• May be required to work onsite of an active construction project that entails a job trailer setting and typical noises from an active construction project
