Job summary

Metric DCX seeks an MEP Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day project management for mission-critical data center projects across the United States. You will work with the MEP Project Manager to manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, and coordination with subcontractors in fast-paced, highly technical environments.

You’ll help drive safety, schedule, and documentation efforts, including permit handling and coordination with attorneys as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience or completion of an early-career Project Engineer program.
• Ability to manage and embrace change, and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.
• Accurate with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Log in and track contracts and purchase orders.
• Price, approve, or reject project change orders and submittals; respond to RFIs.
• Log in, track, and review shop drawings and submittals.
• Coordinate insurance certificates from subcontractors and verify compliance with company insurance requirements.
• Create and update vendor and subcontractor contact log.
• Price and create proposed change orders.
• Submit, track, and issue RFIs.
• Manage the building permit process and resolve related issues.
• Distribute revised drawings to subcontractors.
• Take weekly video and distribute to the General Manager.
• Create weekly meeting minutes for owner and subcontractor meetings.
• Set up coordination meetings with subcontractors.

The Role

The MEP Assistant Project Manager works with the MEP Project Manager in running the day-to-day project management operations on the job.

Responsibilities

• Log in and track contracts and purchase orders
• Use experience and judgment to price, approve, and/or reject project change orders and submittals, and respond to RFIs
• Log in, track, and review shop drawings and submittals
• Request insurance certificates from subcontractors and review for compliance with company insurance requirements
• Create and update vendor and subcontractor contact log
• Price and create proposed change orders
• Submit, track, and issue RFIs
• Manage the building permit process and resolve related issues
• Handle plan revision submissions to the municipality
• Work with company attorneys on contracts, insurance certificates and discrepancies, and contract modifications
• Act as liaison with subcontractors to resolve disputes, questions, or issues related to their work and progress
• Assist with project schedule narratives
• Take weekly video and distribute to the General Manager
• Create weekly meeting minutes for owner and subcontractor meetings
• Set up coordination meetings with subcontractors
• Distribute revised drawings to subcontractors
• Write up descriptions for purchase orders and subcontract requests
• Obtain and track subcontractor warranty certificates
• Create close-out manuals
• Conduct training for OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, and other safety topics

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience, or completion of an early-career Project Engineer program, or experience as a Project Engineer with another firm
• Ability to manage and embrace change, and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems
• Accurate with attention to detail
