Job summary

Granger Construction Company is seeking a field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern who will support project managers and field teams in documentation, scheduling, and daily activities. You will review drawings and specifications, track progress, participate in on-site meetings, and assist in preparing RFIs and submittals to help meet milestones.

This paid internship provides networking, hands-on experience, and exposure to procurement and safety practices in a collaborative construction

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the capability to lead by example.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
• A strong work ethic with dedication to meeting deadlines.
• Ability to see the big picture while focusing on details.
• Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
• Must be able to work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field teams by assisting in project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
• Track and document project progress, including daily logs, material deliveries, and work completed.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals to ensure project milestones are met.
• Contribute to maintaining project safety standards by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics activities.
