The primary responsibility of the Assistant Program Manager is to create and promote a culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity in the delivery of services to our individuals. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Assistant Program Manager will oversee all operational aspects of multiple homes, sites, or services, ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Job Duties Include:
- Representing the Mission, Vision, and Values of AMA Support Services through actions and presentations
- Creating a culture of high professional and ethical standards, where dignity, respect, integrity, and compassion are paramount
- Assisting the Program Manager by:
- Overseeing all aspects of programs to ensure the health, safety, welfare, and personal development of those supported
- Ensuring the highest quality of services as outlined in the ISP
- Supervising and directing daily activities of program staff
- Developing and delivering training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
- Ensuring thorough onboarding and training for new employees
- Participating in support and service meetings, contributing to team collaboration
- Coordinating medical appointments and follow-ups to meet health needs
- Developing and overseeing weekly CPS schedules with the CPS Coordinator
- Implementing safety strategies and responding to incidents according to regulations
- Supporting time and attendance functions, including schedule adjustments and correction of missed punches
- Creating a structured, nurturing home environment tailored to individuals' needs and preferences
- Promoting goal attainment, personal growth, and independence through innovative strategies
- Ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining accurate service records
- Managing staff schedules and coverage to meet supervision needs
- Overseeing supplies and ensuring homes are adequately stocked
- Ensuring medical orders, diets, and care protocols are followed
- Building positive relationships with stakeholders, including families, oversight agencies, and the community
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with management experience and experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
- Or an Associate’s Degree with 2 years management and 2 years support experience
- Or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years management experience in a residential support setting
Required Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of industry regulations (Chapter 6400, 6100, PA 51, HIPAA, FLSA, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal)
- Strong time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems (Therap, ADP, Makeshift, etc.)
- Adaptability and multi-tasking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Effective instruction, feedback acceptance, and negotiation skills

- Management and leadership training or certification
