Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG is seeking an Assistant Program Director to support a Vocational Nursing Program. This on-site role under the Campus Program Director focuses on ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, and student success.

The candidate will help plan and evaluate the program, prepare required reports, assess clinical affiliations, and oversee evaluations and records while teaching roughly half the time. Strong leadership and online teaching experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in nursing, education, or administration.
• At least 3 years experience leading a nursing program.
• At least 3 years experience as full-time faculty in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program.
• At least 1 year experience teaching in an online environment.
• Active California BRN license.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with planning, developing, managing, updating, and evaluating all aspects of the program.
• Prepare data and written materials for state and Board reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits.
• Identify outside resources for the nursing program.
• Assess clinical agencies' ability to meet theory and clinical objectives.
• Ensure Facility Approval Applications are completed and approved prior to rotations.
• Ensure timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by faculty.
• Maintain evaluations from students, site representatives, and faculty after each rotation.
• Support strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives.
• Work to continuously improve instructional quality.
• Ensure timely completion of clinical assignments, rotation matrices, and calendars.
• Ensure faculty follow policies related to student clinical experience.
• Review student learning materials and maintain records according to policy.
• Submit required program reports to the Director promptly.
• Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Provide advising and planning assistance to prospective students.
• Help ensure students meet graduation and licensing exam requirements.
• Teach theory or clinical courses approximately half of the time.

An accredited vocational nursing education provider is seeking an Assistant Program Director to support its Vocational Nursing Program. This role works under the supervision of the Campus Program Director and plays a key part in ensuring the program's academic quality, regulatory compliance, and student success.

What you'll do

• Assist the Director with planning, developing, managing, updating, and evaluating all aspects of the program
• Help prepare data and written materials for required state and Board reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits
• Identify and secure outside resources for the nursing program
• Assess clinical agencies' ability to meet theory and clinical course objectives
• Ensure Facility Approval Applications are completed and approved prior to clinical rotations
• Ensure timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by faculty
• Maintain evaluations from students, clinical site representatives, and faculty after each clinical rotation
• Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives
• Work to continuously improve instructional quality

• Ensure faculty consistently follow policies related to student clinical experience

Required qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university (including coursework in nursing, education, or administration)
• A minimum of 3 years experience leading a nursing program
• A minimum of 3 years experience as full-time faculty in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program
• A minimum of 1 year experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment
• A minimum of 4 year of continuous full-time experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental health psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics within the past five years
• Valid, active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Action-oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within a deadline-oriented environment
