The City of Murfreesboro is seeking an Assistant/Program Coordinator to develop, plan and coordinate programs for the public across all age groups. The role emphasizes communication in English and delivering engaging recreational activities in alignment with department goals.
Responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating programming, coordinating staffing and volunteers, maintaining records, and ensuring a positive customer experience while upholding safety and service standards.
This position is considered a Safety-Safe-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
The purpose of this position is to develop, plan and coordinate programs and activities for the public of all age groups.
Assistant Program Coordinators assigned to tennis operations will take a lead role in delivering tennis clinics, programs, and special events under the supervision of a certified Tennis Professional. They will plan and lead group instruction, coordinate court and equipment setup, supervise part-time staff or volunteers assisting with programs, and ensure a safe, organized, and engaging tennis environment for participants.
Additional certifications related to assigned area of focus is preferred. For example, a Golf Professional may have PGA or LPGA Membership, or Aquatics may be a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and/or National Recreation and Parks Association Aquatic Facility Operator.
