The Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track professorship at the assistant professor rank in the field of Theology and Technology. The department is particularly interested in candidates who study the ethics of digital technologies. Successful candidates will demonstrate not only expertise in the applied ethics of technology but also grounding in broader theological sources. Qualifications

The successful candidates will show evidence of strong scholarship and a trajectory toward a field-leading contribution to the study of theology and technology. They will also be sympathetic to the mission of the University of Notre Dame, which seeks a distinctive educational and scholarly excellence that is founded on its Catholic identity. Candidates at the entry level must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or have completed all but dissertation in moral theology or a closely related field with successful dissertation defense by August 1, 2027. Candidates at the advanced level must have a Ph.D. in moral theology or a closely related field.
