Xavier University in Cincinnati invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Communication Sciences beginning Fall 2027. The position emphasizes teaching and building a new academic program in speech-language pathology and strengthening the undergraduate curriculum.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in SLP or related field, CCC-SLP or eligibility, and a record of teaching and research potential, with a commitment to mentoring

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related field.
• ABD candidates may be considered provided that all requirements for the doctorate will be completed by Aug 1, 2027.
• CCC-SLP or eligibility to obtain CCC-SLP prior to appointment.
• Experience supervising students in a clinical/practicum/CFY setting.
• Evidence of effective college-level teaching or potential for teaching excellence.
• Evidence of an active or emerging research agenda and productivity.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Commitment to student advising and mentoring.
• Commitment to Xavier's Jesuit Catholic educational tradition.

Responsibilities

• Teach 18 credit hours annually for this tenure-track position.
• Help build a new academic program from the ground up.
• Strengthen the undergraduate curriculum in speech-language pathology.
• Contribute to an active research agenda and scholarly productivity.
