Morehouse College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Visual Arts to begin August 2027. The candidate should have an MFA in Studio Art with concentration in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture or photography and at least three years of higher education teaching experience.

Qualifications

• MFA in Studio Art with concentration in one of Painting & drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture or Photography.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in higher education beyond graduate school.
• Ability to teach foundational courses for non-majors as well as studio art courses.
• Engagement with influences of the African Diaspora including Afro-Futurism, Afro-Surrealism, Black Feminism or LGBTQ issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop course content and materials in support of course and learning outcomes.
• Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations.
• Schedule and maintain office hours and provide timely communication to students.
• Utilize instructional technology (Banner, Blackboard, Starfish) required by Morehouse College.
