Salary Range: The Assistant Professor (AcademicYear) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688/year; $6,221 to$13,224/per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). Theanticipated hiring range is $86,000 to $90,000 per year; $7,167 to$7,500/per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). Thesalary offered is commensurate with qualifications andexperience.

The Department ofRomance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures is expandinggraduate education in Translation and Interpreting following thelaunch of a graduate certificate in 2023 and the planned opening ofthe MA in Translation and Interpreting in Fall 2027. The programemphasizes multilingual and culturally inclusive education, theintegration of theory and professional practice, translationtechnology, and career preparation. The successful candidate willcontribute to the development of the new MA, collaborate withfaculty in interpreting, support professional and academicpartnerships, and help prepare multilingual students for evolvingcareers in translation, interpreting, and globalcommunication.
A background check (including a criminal records check andtelephone reference check with most recent employer) must becompleted satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered aposition with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete thebackground check may affect the application status of applicants orcontinued employment of current CSU employees who apply for theposition.
