Job summary

William & Mary’s Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in theoretical astroparticle physics and cosmology. The appoinment will begin August 10, 2027, with duties spanning research, teaching, and service.

The candidate should build a vibrant externally funded program and mentor a strong graduate/undergraduate body. The teaching expectation is one course per semester and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics or closely related field by August 10, 2027.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Evidence of ability to establish externally funded research program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in theoretical astroparticle physics and cosmology.
• Teach one course per semester at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Mentor students and contribute to service to the university.
