The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry position.
Responsibilities include providing child psychiatric clinical services within the Medical Center and to children and adolescents in the region served by the University of Virginia. These services may include inpatient consultation liaison, emergency room, and outpatient work.
The incumbent is expected to participate in the supervision and training of psychiatry residents, child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, and medical students. The role requires providing in-person services and covering faculty call for nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other faculty members. The division also offers telepsychiatry services to rural, underserved locations across the state. This position offers an excellent opportunity for clinicians interested in patient care, academic psychiatry, teaching, and research.
Qualifications:
Salary and tenure status depend on qualifications. If hired as tenure-ineligible, part-time effort is available and will be discussed with candidates.
