Assistant Professor of Practice – Nurse Anesthesia

Position located in Biltmore Park instructional site, Asheville, NC. Full-time 1 FTE, 12 month fixed-term appointment at rank of Assistant Professor of Practice.

Position Summary

Western Carolina University seeks a Nurse Anesthetist to teach in the Nurse Anesthesia program. The successful candidate will teach and develop online and traditional courses, participate in anesthesia simulation, advise DNP students and chair DNP projects, participate in committees and other university activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Nurse Anesthesia program, including online and traditional formats.
• Participate in anesthesia simulation and student practicums.
• Advise DNP students and chair DNP projects.
• Participate in departmental committees and university activities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in nursing or related field. National certification as a CRNA required; licensure or eligibility for RN licensure/CRNA practice in NC.
• Current CPR, PALS and ACLS certification.
• Experience as a CRNA; enrolled doctoral program candidate may be considered if doctorate completed by start date.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
