Job summary

University of Tennessee Knoxville is seeking a Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Assistant Program Administrator to deliver academic, educational, and clinical instruction, along with administrative support to the Nurse Anesthesia Program leadership. This role supports program operations, quality, and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a DNP or PhD, CRNA certification, Tennessee licensure or eligibility via compact, and several years of CRNA practice and graduate teaching

Qualifications

• Earned DNP or PhD from an accredited institution, conferred by the time of appointment.
• Current, unrestricted registered nurse licensure in Tennessee or eligibility for licensure through the Nurse Licensure Compact by the time of appointment.
• Current CRNA certification/recertification through NBCRNA.
• At least three years of professional CRNA practice.
• At least two years of teaching in a nurse anesthesia or related graduate nursing program.
• Documented effectiveness in didactic, simulation, and/or clinical teaching and assessment of student learning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate nurse anesthesia curriculum and clinical learning experiences.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience with COA accreditation, program evaluation, or continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Current certification/recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• At least three years of professional practice experience as a CRNA, with professional accomplishments commensurate with the proposed faculty rank.
• At least two years of teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia or related graduate nursing program.
• Documented effectiveness in didactic, simulation, and/or clinical teaching and in assessment of student learning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate nurse anesthesia curriculum and clinical learning experiences.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience with COA accreditation, program evaluation, or continuous quality improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia or related graduate nursing program.
• Experience designing and facilitating high-fidelity simulation.
• Evidence of clinical scholarship, quality improvement, professional dissemination, or educational innovation.
