About the Position

The Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Program Administrator/Concentration Coordinator provides academic, educational, and clinical instruction, and administrative leadership for the Nurse Anesthesia Program, ensuring excellence in program quality, student outcomes, and regulatory compliance. This faculty leadership position is responsible for maintaining full compliance with accreditation standards established by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), as well as applicable university, state, and federal requirements.

Description

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs, this faculty role provides oversight for all aspects of program administration and operations, including curriculum design and continuous improvement, clinical education and experiential learning, student mentorship, program assessment, and accreditation activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned DNP or PhD from an accredited institution, conferred by the time of appointment.
  • Current, unrestricted registered nurse licensure in Tennessee or eligibility for licensure through the Nurse Licensure Compact by the time of appointment.
  • Current certification/recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • At least three years of professional practice experience as a CRNA, with professional accomplishments commensurate with the proposed faculty rank.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia or related graduate nursing program.
  • Documented effectiveness in didactic, simulation, and/or clinical teaching and in assessment of student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate nurse anesthesia curriculum and clinical learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Experience in academic program leadership or administration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with COA accreditation, program self-study, reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience designing and facilitating high-fidelity simulation.
  • Evidence of clinical scholarship, quality improvement, professional dissemination, or educational innovation.
