Applicants should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.), J.S.D., S.J.D., LL.M., or LL.B. from an accredited law school. A Criminal Background Check is required. The position is a 10-month appointment with salary $141,500.

Position Description

Georgia State University College of Law invites entry-level and junior lateral (pre-tenure) candidates to apply for a tenure-track position to begin no later than the 2026-27 academic year. The College of Law seeks candidates who have promising research and teaching within law schools. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Required Experience

Applicants seeking the rank of Assistant Professor should demonstrate a promise in teaching and research.

Required Education

Applicants should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), LL.M. (Master of Laws), or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited law school (or foreign equivalent).

Pre-Employment Requirements

A Criminal Background Check is required.

Work Hours

Law Academic is a 10-month appointment. Standard work hours to support the required workload of 33.4% Teaching, 33.3% Research, and 33.3% service. Georgia State Law faculty may be required to work non-standard hours including day, evening, online, blended/hybrid, and weekends as determined by the Dean.

Salary

$141,500
