Job summary

The University of Georgia School of Law invites applications to fill one or more tenure-track or tenured positions at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor. The positions will begin in August 2027, with a possible January 1, 2028 start date.

Our curricular priorities include professional responsibility, torts, and bankruptcy/secured transactions. Applications from candidates who can teach in more than one of the above-listed disciplines are especially welcome.

Qualifications

• J.D. or doctoral equivalents required for admission to the bar and scholarly credentials.

Position Summary

The positions will begin in August 2027, with a possibility of a January 1, 2028 start date. Our curricular priorities include professional responsibility, torts, and bankruptcy/secured transactions. Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited Law School, Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

Applicants should be committed to producing world‑class scholarship, providing first‑rate legal education, and engaging in meaningful service. Applicants seeking the rank of Associate Professor or Professor must have a demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. The School of Law is committed to producing world‑class research, so candidates should have an established track record of scholarly publications or scholarly potential.
