Xavier University's College of Nursing seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in MSN NP tracks (FNP focus) and possibly BSN/MSN core courses. The role includes online and on-campus teaching, practicum coordination, and curriculum development.

Successful candidates will contribute to student advising, scholarly activity, and service within the College of Nursing and Xavier Health initiatives. A strong commitment to Jesuit, Catholic education is valued.

Formación

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• MSN required; doctoral degree preferred; demonstrated expertise in desired instruction areas.
• Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Geronto NP in Ohio with ≥2 years NP experience.
• At least 2 years of clinical RN experience in a specialty area.
• 2+ years teaching in accredited programs; online instruction experience is desired.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, teaching methods, and evaluation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide practicum coordination and teaching in classroom, online, and lab/simulation environments.

The College of Nursing (CN) at Xavier University is seekingexperienced, innovative, and highly motivated candidates for afull-time, non-tenure-track faculty to teach in our high-quality NPtracks of the MSN program beginning Spring 2027. The CN programsinclude BSN, second-degree accelerated MSN (MIDAS), and online MSN,FNP, PMHNP, AGPCNP, and DNP programs. Successful candidates areexpected to teach in one or more of our nursing programs dependingon program needs. Desired teaching specialty areas include but arenot limited to: FNP. Candidates with expertise in more than onespecialty area are highly desirable. Candidates will teach in ouronline, asynchronous NP tracks of the MSN program, but may alsoteach in the BSN program and/or MSN core depending on the college'sneeds. Successful candidates may provide prscticum coordination andare expected to provide teaching instructions in a classroom,online, and/or lab/simulation environments. The undergraduate andaccelerated programs are traditional on-campus programs that expectthe physical presence of faculty. The online graduate programsexpect some physical on-campus presence.

Successful candidates will actively participate in the developmentand evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences,test construction, and assessment of students’ learning; establisheffective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinicalagencies; participate in nursing scholarly work and professionaldevelopment; participate in student academic advising and guidance;and participate in the faculty organization and appropriateprogram, college, and university activities and committees.

The position is a 12-month faculty position with teaching loadassigned in fall, spring, and summer semesters. If desired, a9-month position may be considered, but 12-month ispreferred.

Clinical areas of expertise: Family nurse practitioner or AdultGero primary care nurse practitioner preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registerednurse in Ohio or be eligible to be licensed and practice inOhio.
• A minimum of an MSN degree, with a doctoral degree in nursingor a related field preferred (With no doctoral degree the candidatemust possess demonstrable expertise in the desired areas ofinstruction, incuding clinical areas).
• Certified and licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner or AdultGero primary care nurse practitioner in the state of Ohio, with aminimum of 2 years of NP experience
• At least 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nursein a specialty area.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in an accreditedprogram in a content-specialty area is preferred.
• Teaching experience in adult and graduate programs and onlineinstruction is desired.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, methods of teaching, andevaluation are desired.
• Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills andhave a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborativeteam.
