Position Title

Assistant Professor of Forensic Investigation (Tenure‑Track)

Overview

The University of Wisconsin‑Platteville is inviting applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, benefit‑eligible tenure‑track faculty position in the Criminal Justice & Forensic Investigation department. The appointment will involve teaching courses in Forensic Investigation and may include teaching in the Chemistry department beginning August 2026. Salary is $64,000–$68,000 per academic year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Teach multiple existing courses (e.g., Criminalistics, Intro to Forensic Sciences, Senior Seminar).
  • Develop and teach new courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • If holding a chemistry degree, teach at least one Chemistry prerequisite course.
  • Engage in research, scholarship, and professional activities.
  • Provide career and academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university activities.
Qualifications

Preferred candidate is a criminalist with a chemistry background and laboratory or field experience, who will be affiliated with the Chemistry department and able to contribute to curriculum development during the FEPAC accreditation review.
