Tufts University’s Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor with expertise in Directing, starting in late August 2027. The position includes teaching six courses per year and directing plays or musicians in the mainstage season.

Candidates should be prepared to teach Directing I and Directing II, mentor undergraduate directors, advise majors, and engage in departmental and university service;

Responsibilities

• Teaching the equivalent of six courses per year, split between classroom instruction and directing plays/musicians in the mainstage season.
• Mentoring undergraduate directors.
• Advising theatre and performance studies majors and non-majors.
• Providing departmental and university service.
