Job Profile Summary
Assistant Professor, Nursing at Broward College, a large state community college in South Florida, offers a full‑time, contract‑eligible teaching role to support the College’s mission of student success and academic excellence. The position begins in August2026 and is a yearly, three‑semester (194‑day) contract.
Responsibilities
- Teach nursing courses with mastery of content, demonstrating commitment to the College mission, student success, and academic achievement.
- Integrate technology across modalities to facilitate learning and engage diverse learners.
- Develop responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices to support students of varying academic preparation.
- Prepare course outlines and syllabi, and provide prompt feedback through regular office hours and timely correspondence.
- Adhere to reporting deadlines: grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, shared academic decision‑making, faculty organizations, departmental reviews, and service to the College and community.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, attending disciplinary and educational conferences.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred: Nursing Education).
- Current unrestricted Florida License as an RN or NP.
- Doctorate in Nursing (preferred).
- College‑level teaching and Medical/Surgical experience (preferred).
- 2–3 years clinical and classroom experience in an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
