Job summary

Broward College invites applications for a part-time teaching position in Health Sciences, Nursing. The ideal candidate will hold a BSN (Masters preferred), be an unencumbered Florida RN, and bring at least two years of nursing experience.

The role includes both clinical teaching and didactic responsibilities with potential additional compensation based on load. Applicants should demonstrate classroom teaching ability, comfort with technology, and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

  • BSN required for clinical teaching; Masters preferred.
  • RN license in Florida required.
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing required for didactic teaching; RN license in Florida.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent clinical/professional nursing experience.
  • College-level teaching experience and Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy and commitment to teaching.
  • All schedules require office hours; some may require evening and/or weekend hours.

Minimum Education: Clinical Teaching: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Masters preferred. Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida. Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical practice experience. Didactic (Classroom) Teaching: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing) required. Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida. Minimum of 2 years of recent professional nursing experience. This position may be eligible for additional compensation based on teaching load and supplemental assignments, as determined by the needs of the College. Minimum Experience/Training: College‑level teaching and Medical/Surgical experience preferred. The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching. All schedules require office hours, and some may require evening and/or weekend hours.

Employ teaching methods to accommodate various levels of academic preparation and incorporate appropriate and engaging technology across different modalities of instruction to facilitate student learning. Facilitate the needs of different learners across programs by implementing responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices for engaging students. Have a willingness to examine and adapt one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support students. Engage in student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, and preparation of course syllabi. Provide prompt and constructive support to students through regular office hours and timely feedback on assessments and activities. Provide prompt feedback to student emails. Adhere to all reporting deadlines such as grade processing, enrollment verification, syllabus submission, and textbook adoption. Participate in service to the college and its community.
