Job summary

Salisbury University (SU) is seeking a doctoral-trained nursing educator to develop and teach nursing curricula across didactic and clinical settings. The role includes advising students, evaluating performance in clinical sites, and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and with community partners.

The candidate will contribute to scholarship and participate in faculty governance while supporting graduate and undergraduate nursing education and capstone/DNP projects

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.
• Current license to practice in Maryland or eligibility in a compact state.
• Advanced certification in nursing education or related specialty.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.

Job Summary

Participate in the development, teaching, organization, and evaluation of Adult Health, Psychiatric Mental Health, Pediatrics, Maternity, and/or Community Health Adult Health (didactic & clinical). Participate in the development, teaching, organization, and evaluation of clinical and didactic education for graduate and undergraduate nursing students. Advise and evaluate students in clinical settings, including conducting site visits to preceptor locations. Build/maintain collaborative interdisciplinary relationships within the school, college, university and in the community. Maintain active scholarship. Participate in faculty governance. Provide service to the school, university, and profession. Develop and implement curricula in order to prepare students adequately for the challenges presented within all aspects of the nursing field. Participate in the development, teaching, organization, and evaluation of clinical and/or didactic education for graduate nursing students’ capstone practicum and/or DNP project to facilitate the transition from nursing student to nurse leader. Authority and Accountability Reports to Debra Webster, School of Nursing Director. No direct reports. No supervisory or budgetary responsibility or authority. The successful candidate will: Participate in the development, teaching, organization nursing curricula (didactic and clinical). Contribute to undergraduate and graduate nursing education, including classroom, clinical, and experiential learning environments. Teach undergraduate nursing students in hospital and outpatient clinical settings. Advise and evaluate students in clinical settings, including conducting site visits to preceptor locations. Support graduate nursing education through capstone practicums and/or DNP projects, facilitating students’ transition into professional and leadership roles. Develop and implement innovative curricula that prepare students for the evolving challenges of contemporary nursing practice. Build and maintain collaborative, interdisciplinary relationships within the school, college, university, and broader community. Maintain an active program of scholarship. Participate in faculty governance and contribute to the academic mission of the institution. Provide service to the school, university, and the nursing profession.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Eligibility for licensure or current license to practice in Maryland or a compact state.
• Advanced certification in nursing education or a related specialty.
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching nursing students in academic or clinical settings.
• Clinical expertise with nursing specialty.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovation in teaching, curriculum development, and simulation.
• Experience working with interprofessional teams to improve health outcomes in aging populations.
